We plan to install 3 4 wood flooring already purchased but learned that installing the flooring would make it so we can t get our dishwasher out if it were to leak or fail the legs of the dishwasher are almost all the way up.
Dishwasher wont fir with new tile floor.
The house i purchased has nice new cabinetry and counter tops but cheap flooring.
The tile was maybe a 3 4 inch thick and because the dishwasher was at a lower level it was a tremendous pain in the ass to get out.
That way should the dishwasher need to be moved again it will be easier.
Sometimes when kitchens are remodeled the dishwasher gets tiled into place.
I recently had to replace a dishwasher in a kitchen where the tile went up to but not under the dishwasher.
The kitchen had a linoleum floor about ten years old which had been laid over thick plywood.
I had tile put in couple of years ago and they tiled up to dishwasher.
We hired a dear friend a professional tiling contractor to put a ceramic tile floor in our kitchen.
The cardboard is not needed if a tile or hardwood floor are planned but.
If i remove some floor tile to put the new one in and than tile again up to it the dishwasher will not be able to.
I ve removed the particle board to expose the subfloor but if i install the hardwood underneath the dishwasher i ll be 1 4 too high therefore the dishwasher won t fit.
Now i bought a new one and because by putting tile in we raised the floor it will not fit.
Is there at least 34 1 2 of space from the floor to the underside of the counter.
So i was told to make a cut in the tile counter.
If you remodeled after installing the dishwasher and added tile to the floor in front of the.
Can the dishwasher be lowered any more by adjusting it at the base.
That s with a 1 2 inch particle board on top of my subfloor.
While this may be a hassle to deal with there are a ways to fix the situation.
Is there a gap between the top of your dishwasher and the underside of the counter.
Currently my dishwasher fits perfect underneath my counter top with almost no room to spare.
One option is to install an ada compliant dishwasher that fit s into a 32 1 2 high opening as opposed to the standard 34 1 2 opening required.
When buying a new dishwasher or repairing your old one you must pull out the existing dishwasher.
My opening is now 34 3 4 and that is how tall the dishwasher is.
Position the dishwasher on a piece of cardboard in front of the recess at the cabinets with its back facing the recess.
